Google and Temasek to Invest in Tokopedia

Search engine giant Google, a key unit of Alphabet Inc., and Singapore’s Temasek Holdings have agreed to invest roughly US$ 350 million in PT Tokopedia. Tokopedia is an e-commerce platform in Indonesia. Tokopedia has backing by SoftBank Group Corporation.
In late 2018, Tokopedia secured US$ 1.1 billion in funding in a round led by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding and SoftBank Group.
PT Tokopedia was founded by William Tanuwijaya and Leontinus Alpha Edison on February 6, 2009.
