CNBC Reports that Melvin Capital Closed its Short Position in GameStop on Tuesday Afternoon

Melvin Capital exited its short position in GameStop (ticker: GME) on Tuesday afternoon after taking a huge loss, the hedge fund’s manager told CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin. CNBC could not confirm the amount of losses Melvin Capital took on the short position.

However, Reuters article on January 21, 2020, says this, “Melvin Capital, founded in 2014 by Gabriel Plotkin, said it does not comment on positions and trading.”
