KIC and Hyundai Heavy Industries Ink Co-Investment Agreement

The Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) inked a deal for a 1 trillion KRW co-investment agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.. Hyundai Heavy Industries is the world’s largest shipbuilding company. KIC’s remit remains to be overseas investments. Some of the co-investments could include allocation to startups or mergers and acquisitions.

KIC and Hyundai Heavy Industries will jointly invest in new technologies. Some of this new tech includes ship autopilot, fuel cell and energy systems, AI and robotics, and digital healthcare.

KIC continues to seek out domestic partners for co-investment and cooperation to help them expand their presence in global markets.
