TIKTOK FAMOUS: Gen Z Stars Raise $15 Million

In March 2021, Animal Capital, a Generation Z-focused venture capital firm launched by a group of TikTok stars, raised around US$ 15 million for its debut fund. The TikTok stars are Josh Richards (age 19), Griffin Johnson (age 22), and Noah Beck (age 19). The largest partners of the firm are Michael Gruen (Vice President of TalentX Entertainment) and Marshall Sandman (Sway House’s head of venture). The TikTok stars used their own money to invest in Stir and Lendtable in 2020.
The advisory board of Animal Capital includes the Winklevoss twins and Justin Kan, the co-founder of streaming service Twitch.
Animal Capital will target pre-seed, seed, and Series A stage investments. The fund will target consumer, wellness, fintech, and media startups.
