ANOTHER DOSE: Pfizer CEO Warns of Booster After Initial COVID Shots

Posted on 04/15/2021

Pfizer Inc. CEO Albert Bourla informed the public that there is a “likely” chance of a need a booster dose. This would be needed within 12 months of getting the two shots of the COVID-19 mRNA treatment. Bourla made the comments on a panel. mRNA stands for messenger RNA.

Bourla also said it would be possible that people would need to get shots against the coronavirus annually.

Bourla says, “The Covid virus looks more like the influenza virus than the polio virus.”

The coronavirus has a number of highly contagious variants that are up-ending the current vaccine/gene therapy regimes.

Pfizer and Moderna stand to make billions of dollars from their respective COVID-19 vaccines for 2021, especially if the COVID shots become an annual ritual. Pfizer CFO Frank D’Amelio said on the company’s earnings call in February 2021 that while “pandemic pricing” in the U.S. is US$ 19.50 per dose, “a normal price that we typically get for a vaccine” would be US$ 150 to US$ 175 per dose.

Shots Fired from AstraZeneca

On another note, a study by Oxford University found the number of people who receive blood clots after getting vaccinated with a coronavirus vaccine are about the same for those who get Pfizer and Moderna mRNA gene therapies as they are for the AstraZeneca vaccine that was produced with the university’s help. According to the Oxford University study, 4 in 1 million people experience cerebral venous thrombosis after getting the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, versus 5 in 1 million people for the AstraZeneca vaccine. AstraZeneca’s vaccine use has been halted or limited in many countries on blood clot concerns.
