Italian investment fund F2i has launched its fifth fund, the Fondo per le Infrastrutture Sostenibili (FIS) and raised €900 million in a first closing. The fund seeks to raise €1.5 billion in capital commitments and will focus on the traditional infrastructure sectors. Other areas of interest include energy transition investments, circular economy, digitization, and healthcare facilities.

The first phase of funding was supported by a cadre of Italian institutional investors, including social security funds, banks and insurance companies. In addition, F2i said the participation of foreign institutional investors is expected to be in line with their presence in other management funds, namely with a weighting of about 40 percent to 50 percent of managed assets.
