Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) disclosed on Friday he won’t nominate central bank Governor Alejandro Díaz de León for a second term. Diaz de Leon’s term finishes at the end of the year. AMLO is seeking an experienced economist, one with a focus on social issues, to head Banxico (Bank of Mexico).

Governor Alejandro Díaz de León was appointed Governor of the Bank of Mexico on December 1, 2017, replacing Agustin Carstens.
