Mubadala Investment Company Joins EIG-Led Group for Aramco Oil Pipelines Stake

Posted on 06/09/2021

Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Investment Company joined an investor group led by U.S.-based EIG Global Energy Partners. The investor group had agreed to acquire a 49% stake in Aramco Oil Pipelines Company. In April 2021, Saudi Aramco agreed to sell the pipeline unit stake for US$ 12.4 billion to the investor group led by EIG Global.

Mubadala didn’t disclose the stake size in a June 8, 2021 statement. Saudi Aramco will retain a 51% stake after the Mubadala deal, it said in the statement.

The massive transaction is supported by staple financing of US$ 10.5 billion funded by banks.
