Carlyle Group Eyes South Korean Coffee Chain A Twosome Place

The Carlyle Group is looking to buy A Twosome Place, a major South Korean coffee chain for around 800 billion won. The major owner of the coffee chains is Hong Kong-based Anchor Equity Partners. The chain was originally launched as CJ Foodville, which was part of the CJ Group. CJ Group sold CJ Foodville for around 450 billion won to an investor group comprised of Anchor Equity, Singapore’s GIC Private Limited, and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).
