Harry Reid, the former U.S. Senate majority leader and Nevada’s longest-serving member of Congress, has died. He was 82. He led the Senate Democratic Caucus from 2005 to 2017 and was the Senate Majority Leader from 2007 to 2015.

Reid underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer in 2018. Reid died after a four-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Reid was a politician with the Democrat party. Reid’s recent impact is perhaps most present in his 2013 change to the U.S. Senate rules to prevent filibusters of most executive branch nominations.

Days ago, Johnny Isakson, age 76, a long-time U.S. Senator from Georgia died. Isakson had Parkinson’s disease, but the cause of death was not immediately apparent.
