Mubadala and Other UAE Investors Seek Opportunity in Spain

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. The two signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with COFIDES. COFIDES is the Spanish state-owned financial institution. The MoU is designed to explore potential business and investment opportunities in Spain.

Mubadala Investment Company was represented by Homaid Al Shimmari, its Deputy Group CEO, and COFIDES was represented by María Reyes Maroto Illera, Spain’s Minister of Industry.

Mubadala has a number of large-scale investments in Spain. Mubadala invested in Enagás, Spain’s leading natural gas transmission company and a global leader in operating LNG regasification terminals. Mubadala also has a long history with Compañia Española de Petróleos (CEPSA).
