Macquarie Asset Management to Acquire Roadchef from Antin Infrastructure Partners

Cannock-based Roadchef is a U.K. motorway and trunk road service area operator. With 30 locations, Roadchef aims to provide a restful and relaxing environment for over 52 million visitors to its motorway service areas per annum. Some brands located at Roadchef include McDonald’s, Costa Coffee, LEON, WHSmith, SPAR, Chozen Noodle and Days Inn. In addition, Roadchef’s own branded offerings include Fresh Food Café, Garden Square Deli and Restbite. Across its 30 locations, Roadchef operate 91,000 square feet of catering, 41,000 square feet retail, 15,000 square feet grocery and 690 hotel bedrooms. The sales price was £900 million.

Antin Infrastructure Partners (Paris:ANTIN) signed an agreement to sell Roadchef to a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management.

Antin Infrastructure Partners acquired Roadchef from Israeli conglomerate Delek Group in September 2014 as part of Fund II for circa 153 million GBP. Delek Group was seeking to sell off the majority of its non-energy holdings at the time.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
