HGGC Forms Aspire Holdings, Targeting $300 Million of Investment into RIA Space

Posted on 04/26/2022

HGGC is a middle-market private equity firm.

HGGC formed Aspire Holdings, a new company that will hold the firm’s investments in Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) as it pursues a plan to invest up to US$ 300 million in the space. To date, HGGC has taken equity stakes in three RIAs: Glastonbury, CT-based Apella Capital, LLC, Merit Financial Group, and WA Asset Management (WAAM). HGGC Co-Founder and President Steve Young will act as Chairman of Aspire. Steve Young is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League for 15 seasons, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers.

In addition to these benefits, Aspire will enable HGGC’s Operational Resource Group to work more efficiently with its various RIA investments.

HGGC was formerly known as Huntsman Gay Global Capital.
