Jean Castex is a French politician who was Prime Minister of France from July 3, 2020 to May 16, 2022. Castex resigned his PM role on May 16, 2022.
French President Emmanuel Macron selected Labour Minister Elisabeth Borne (age 61) as his new prime minister. Elisabeth Borne served numerous Socialist Party ministers before joining Macron’s government. Elisabeth Borne has never run for public office.
Macron is conducting a cabinet overhaul after Macron’s re-election in April 2022.
Macron won the low-turnout election.
