Central Bank of Nigeria Claims 1 Trillion Naira Already Given to Nigerian Farmers Under Anchor Borrowers Program

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) claims that over 1 trillion naira (US$ 2,410,000,000) has been disbursed to farmers under the Anchor Borrowers Program. The CBN governor says between April 2022 and May 2022, the central bank released the sum of 57.91 billion naira under the program to 185,972 new projects for the cultivation of rice, wheat, and maize.
The Central Bank of Nigeria released 21.73 billion naira to finance seven large-scale agricultural projects under the Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme.
