Central Bank of Hungary Raised Base Interest Rate to 11.75%

The Central Bank of Hungary (Hungarian National Bank) raised its base interest rate by 100 basis points to 11.75% on August 30, 2022. The central bank rose rates to fight inflation. Inflation in Hungary in the month of July 2022 increased at the fastest point in a generation.
