Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund Raises $5.5 Billion from Sale of Second Green Bond

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) raised US$ 5.5 billion through the sale of a green bond. This is the second green bond for the sovereign wealth fund. PIF said the order book exceeding US$ 33 billion. This deal attracted interest from institutional investors globally, including Asia. The bond offering was sold in three tranches of US$ 1.75 billion seven-year, US$ 2 billion 12-year and US$ 1.75 billion 30-year maturities.

PIF had its first green bond issued in October 2022.

As at September 30, 2022, the assets under management of the the sovereign wealth fund’s treasury assets amounted to SAR 281 billion. As at September 30, 2022, the sovereign fund’s AUM was SAR 2,285 billion.
