Candriam Group inked a deal to purchase an additional 31% stake in pan-European real estate investment firm Tristan Capital Partners. Tristan Capital Partners is based out of London. The deal gives Candriam Group majority control over the real estate asset manager.

Post-transaction, Candriam will hold an 80% stake in Tristan Capital Partners. The remaining 20% of Tristan Capital Partners will continue to be owned by its senior team. Candriam acquired 9% in 2020, having already taken a 40% ownership stake in the company on January 31, 2018.

Tristan Capital Partners manages over €15 billion in assets for institutional and private investors, is set to benefit from the resources, distribution network and scale of both Candriam and its parent firm New York Life Investments after the deal closes. New York Life Investments is owned by New York Life Insurance Company. In early 2018, Tristan Capital Partners had €9.1 billion in AUM. New York Life Investments is keen on expanding its investment offerings and operations in Europe. Tristan Capital Partners was formed in 2010 by a senior investment team leaving Curzon Global Partners. In 2021, Tristan establishes debt business and launches first fund.
