Liontrust Asset Management will acquire GAM Holding AG out of Switzerland for £96 million in an all-paper deal. Liontrust will substantially expand in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. once GAM is under its fold and will have £53 billion in assets under management following the deal.

Liontrust CEO John Ions said this will increase distribution channels and product options. Ions said: “There is a commonality, in that Liontrust and GAM are both committed to independent and distinct processes for each of their investment teams. Liontrust specializes in providing an environment in which investment teams can thrive, including through the excellence of our sales and marketing, a robust business infrastructure, strong risk and compliance culture, and the stability that comes with financial strength.”

Liontrust Asset Management plc is a British asset management company based in London. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
