Tishman Speyer, a property company out of New York, is developing a real estate fund with partner Raffles Family Office out of Singapore. The new APAC Opportunity Fund will have a value-added, opportunistic strategy. Opportunities may be found in residential, logistics, redevelopment, and credit strategies in Asia. Terms of the deal were kept under wraps.

Raffles Family Office gave its market outlook last week, saying the Federal Reserve will now stop hiking interest rates. Raffles is concerned about the U.S. debt ceiling debate, but “Base case is that the debt limit will be raised ahead of the deadline, as it has been in the past.” Raffles expects business activity to pick up in China, and as for the U.S., “We continue to be advocates of defensive sectors in US equities, ie. consumer staples and healthcare.”

Tishman Speyer is located in Rockefeller Center, New York. CEO Robin Speyer says “collaboration” is the goal of their projects. Speyer has assets under management of US$ 65 billion, with 50 million square feet of mixed-use development and redevelopment projects globally, and adding more than 13,000 units to its residential portfolio and development pipeline. It has 1,900 customers in 30 markets.
