Plaid Teams Up With American Express

Plaid is continuing to grow in the financial world, and is now starting work with credit card giant American Express. Plaid works with Venmo, SoFi, and Betterment, and several of the largest banks already. Plaid’s network includes 8,000 apps and more than 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe.
Plaid’s valuation rose to US$ 13.4 billion in 2021 after a Series D funding round led by Altimeter Capital, which provided US$ 425 million. In 2013, US$ 2.8 million in seed capital was provided by Spark Capital.
Amex customers will be able to get on Plaid’s 8,000 connected apps and services across the digital banking ecosystem.
