The webinar on managing risk and exposure in the current financial climate in cooperation with SWFI is aimed at C-Level and H-Level executives in Operations, Performance, Risk and Data, including Chief Risk Officer and Head of Alternatives, of SWFs. The discussion covers strategies for diversifying portfolios and navigating the current climate, the importance of data in decision-making, and the need to be able to adjust your operating model to meet current challenges, all whilst attempting to secure returns. The session concludes with a Q&A session.

Kashif Khalid, Managing Director of Middle East & Africa, SimCorp
Kashif is currently the Managing Director of Middle East & Africa for SimCorp overlooking SimCorp’s business in the region. In his tenure with SimCorp, Kashif has worked with Asset Owners such as Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds and Central Banks along with Asset Managers across the region and in the UK. Kashif holds a degree in Mathematics & Computer Science and is a FRM charter holder from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Kashif recently completed his Executive MBA with the London Business School.


Dr. Domenico Mignacca, Executive Director of Investment Risk Investment Strategy, Qatar Investment Authority
After graduating from the University of Ancona in 1989 with a degree in Business and Economics, Mr. Mignacca undertook a Masters course in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Southampton (U.K.). In 1994 he was named Honorary Associate Fellow of the Department of Economics at the University Of Wisconsin, Madison (USA), where he studied applications of Chaos Theory in Economics. In 1995, returning to the University of Ancona, he received a Doctorate in Quantitative Economics. In the same year he joined the Deutsche Bank’s Risk Controlling Group in Milan, with the task of calculating VaR. In 1997 he was appointed Senior Quantitative Analyst by BNL Gestioni SGR, a position he held until 2001, when he joined Sanpaolo Asset Management SGR, now Eurizon Capital SGR, as Risk Management Director until December 2016. From January 2017 works for the Qatar Investment Authority until March 2020 as Head of Risk Management and actually as Head of Investment Risk.


Muhammad Faris Muhammad Jamal, Senior Vice President of Investments, Khazanah Nasional Berhad
Faris Jamal, CIPM, FRM, specializes in quantitative investment and risk management with more than 10 years’ experience in the asset management industry. Currently heading the Developed Markets equity team in Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Faris provides top-down investment strategies and active-passive framework for the global equity portfolio. Faris is also responsible for the overall risk budgeting, portfolio construction, tactical allocation, and manager selection to ensure the portfolio achieves its risk-return objectives.
