Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Investment and Revenue Committee Seeks Management for Sovereign Wealth Fund.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is looking for certified wealth management expert(s) to promote the health and growth of their sovereign wealth fund, the Kahnawà:ke Sovereign Wealth Fund (KSWF.) The MCK will utilize the KSWF as a foundational building block, not only to build wealth for future generations, but also to ensure their long term goal of total financial independence.
The MCK is a government organization located on the south shore of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They function as a public body, meaning they are tax exempt within the country.
In July 2023, the Mohawk council Kahnawà:ke issued their principles of Investment Policy, approved on July 31st, 2023. This policy states, “Kahnawà:ke Sovereign Wealth Fund (KSWF) has two main functions: 1. Generate substantial wealth for Kahnawà:ke by growing its asset base. 2. Reduce financial risk by diversifying Kahnawà:ke’s sources of income.” This policy encourages total transparency and clearly states their expectations for the future fund manager(s). The KSWF will begin with C$32,000,000.00 of investable capital. However, C$25,600,000 – C$28,800,000 will be dispensed towards public securities, this amount will be allocated to the manager(s) chosen by the Revenue and Business Development Unit (RBDU.)
The RBDU is a branch of the Executive Office within the MCK, and Alexandre Kanawai�n:ton Beaupre serves as the Executive Revenue Officer. Furthermore, they hold the ultimate authority to support the economic development in the community of Kahnawà:ke. The for-profit investment mandate is the responsibility of the RBDU. Included within this society are, The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke. This council is self governed by the Council of Chiefs, with Ohén:ton Í:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs as their lead portfolio chief. The OCC is responsible for all political, advising and overall functions related to Kahnawà:ke and their affairs. Together with the RBDU, these authorities will oversee all activities related to the Kahnawà:ke Sovereign Wealth Fund.
