Singapore’s GIC Appoints Lawrence Wong Deputy Chairman

GIC has named Lawrence Wong, GIC’s Director, as Deputy Chairman. Duties will transfer next week. Mr. Wong has been a GIC Director since 2018 and Chairman of the Investment Strategies Committee starting months ago in the summer of 2023. Mr. Wong’s latest role will assist the Chairman to lead the Board in overseeing GIC’s long-term asset allocation.
Mr. Wong has a distinguished career, he also serves as Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Chairman of Singapore Economic Development Board’s International Advisory Council.
