Peter Costello Leaving Future Fund

Peter Costello is not interested in renewing his term as the the head of Australia’s Future Fund. The announcement was made by Treasurer Jim Chalmers. A recruitment process to find a successor is set to begin soon. The Future Fund has assets of US$ 131 billion. Costello’s term will expire in February.
Costello is known as an Australian businessman, lawyer, and politician. He served as the treasurer of Australia in the government of John Howard from 1996 to 2007. He was the longest-serving treasurer in Australia’s history.
