Federal Reserve Hikes Rates for Third Time in 11 Years
In a move widely anticipated by global financial markets, the U.S. Federal Reserve decided to raise its benchmark lending rate a quarter point. This takes the overnight funds rate to a target of 0.75% to 1%. In addition, the Federal Reserve signaled two more interest rate increases this year.
