Temasek May Offer Bonds to Singapore Retail Investors

Singapore’s Temasek Holdings may seek to sell bonds to Singapore retail investors. This tidbit was released by a press release commented by Stephen Forshaw, the managing director of corporate affairs for Temasek Holdings.

In the past, Temasek Holdings has sold bonds to institutional investors, allowing the state-owned entity greater leverage and operational flexibility. Other sovereign funds issue bonds like the Mubadala Development Co.

Carefully structured fixed income raises allows for inexpensive financing and asset diversification for Temasek. In mid-December, Temasek Holdings redeemed S$ 500 million of Zero Coupon Guaranteed Exchangeable Bonds due 2013.
