Crispin Odey Reorganizes Odey Asset Management, Steps Down as Co-CEO

Posted on 11/05/2020

Robin Crispin William Odey, aged 61, is the founding partner of London-based Odey Asset Management LLP. Known for his bearish plays in investing, Crispin Odey is stepping down from running the firm he founded almost 30 years ago. Odey wants to focus on managing money instead and targeting new strategies. Crispin Odey is forming a new fund dedicated to the prospect of rising inflation, as central banks continue massive bond buying activities in the West. Timothy Pearey, who has been co-CEO of Odey Asset Management for the past five years, will remain as the firm’s sole chief executive. Odey Asset Management is launching a new regulated entity called Brook Asset Management.

In July 2020, Odey was charged with alleged indecent assault. In September 2020, Odey plead not guilty to the charge at a Westminster magistrates’ court.
