1. ANOTHER COVID MUTATION
A new coronavirus variant has been detected in four travelers from Brazil’s Amazonas state, according to Japan’s Health Ministry.

2. Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune (age 75) returned to Germany on Sunday for not-medically-urgent treatment in hospital for complications in his foot resulting from a coronavirus infection, the presidency said. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had two months for treatment for COVID-19 in Germany two weeks ago.

3. Nationalist politician Sadyr Japarov won a landslide victory, more than 80% of the vote, on Sunday in Kyrgyzstan’s presidential election.

4. The Nur Otan party led by Kazakhstan’s former president Nursultan Nazarbayev has won a landslide in Sunday’s lower house election, according to various polling data.

5. South Korea-based Hyundai Motor and Apple Inc plan to sign a partnership deal on autonomous electric vehicles (EV) by March 2021 and start production around 2024 in the United States, according to local newspaper Korea IT News.
