1. The ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (ticker: BITO) popped up 4.8% to close at US$ 41.94. The ETF tracks CME bitcoin futures, or contracts speculating on the future price of bitcoin, rather than the cryptocurrency itself.

Mount Aso is the largest active volcano in Japan, and is among the largest in the world. Aso erupted in Kyushu, Japan.

3. CHARGING MORE: U.S. consumer products giant Procter & Gamble Co. expects solid sales and profit growth over the next nine months, even as costs increase. They are using their pricing power to take advantage of consumers’ willingness to pay up.

4. Hydrogen trucking startup Nikola Corp (NKLA) was allowed to proceed with its 3-year-old US$ 2 billion patent lawsuit against Tesla, Inc. (TSLA). The case against Tesla will still remain “administratively closed” but won’t be dismissed, Judge James Donato said in a new order.

5. The Biden administration is contemplating using the National Guard (troops) to possibly be deployed to handle the delays and backlogs of shipping. This means U.S. troops would be driving trucks to deliver goods from ports, etc. White House officials have studied what kinds of driver’s licenses are held by National Guard members.

6. Facebook could change its company name to reflect its focus on building the metaverse and have a fresh start from its damaged brand reputation.
