Elon Musk Now Runs Twitter

CEO Elon Musk is now in charge of Twitter Inc. Musk updated his Twitter description to “Chief Twit.”
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and finance chief Ned Segal have left the company’s San Francisco headquarters and will not be returning as they were terminated. Vijaya Gadde, the head of legal policy, trust, and safety at Twitter was also fired. News outlets reported that Vijaya Gadde was in charge of decisions such as banning all political advertising from Twitter, censoring news articles during a U.S. election (New York Post), and removing then U.S. President Donald Trump from Twitter. Twitter has been criticized globally of siding with certain political interests in various countries by censoring politicians.
In April 2022, Twitter accepted Musk’s proposal to buy the company. Musk saw the price of Twitter months after and then questioned if Twitter failed to adequately disclose the number of spam and fake accounts on the service. Elon Musk tried to get out of the deal, but Twitter sued. Earlier in October, Musk decided to proceed with the transaction. Elon Musk has called for Twitter to truly embrace free speech. In addition, Musk disclosed his opinion on advocating for an open-sourcing Twitter’s algorithm and removing all spam bots from the social media platform.
