Coinbase Ventures Backs EigenLayer

EigenLayer is an ethereum restaking protocol. EigenLayer raised US$ 50 million in Series A funding. Blockchain Capital led, and was joined by Coinbase Ventures, Polychain Capital, Hack VC, and Electric Capital. When the Series A round is finished, EigenLayer’s total funding will be roughly US$ 65 million. Restaking enables staked ETH to be used as cryptoeconomic security for protocols other than ethereum, in exchange for protocol fees and rewards. EigenLayer network is modular and extensible.
The seed round in Eigenlayer was led by Polychain Capital and Ethereal.
